The Aecon VALOR (Veterans Advancing through Leadership, Opportunity, and Readiness) Program is a targeted initiative that helps service members and veterans transition their military skills into certified trades and long-term careers at Aecon.

Participants receive paid on-the-job training, mentorship from experienced tradespeople, and support navigating apprenticeship credentials and benefits.

Aecon is proud to support and honor service people and veterans in their next career opportunity, while empowering Aecon projects through excellence in construction.

VALOR
Why VALOR Matters

  • Fast-track to employment - VALOR creates direct hiring pathways into Aecon projects and operations, reducing barriers between military experience and civilian trades roles.

  • Skills recognition and apprenticeship support - The program aligns military competencies with registered apprenticeship standards so participants can earn recognized credentials while working.

  • Proven workforce benefits - Employers that recruit veterans report higher retention, leadership, and reliability among hires; VALOR leverages these strengths to build safer, more resilient crews.

Aecon Supported Programs

Helmets to Hardhats (H2H) was created by the Center for Military Recruitment, Assessment and Veterans Employment to connect transitioning active-duty military service members, veterans, National Guard and Reservists with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry.
