Bringing decades of experience, in-depth knowledge, and a broad range of qualifications to power a clean energy future.

Aecon is at the forefront of delivering infrastructure that will provide clean, reliable and affordable energy for generations to come. We provide a full spectrum of nuclear services for refurbishment, maintenance, new build, decommissioning, modularization and fabrication to power a sustainable future. Aecon plays an important role in extending the life of existing nuclear stations and executing the next generation of nuclear new builds leveraging a similar fleet execution strategy. We are focused on safety, schedule, cost performance and operational excellence.

New Builds

Aecon is playing a key role in deploying the first grid-scale SMR in the Western world. Moving forward, the successful delivery of SMRs and large-scale new nuclear builds are integral to Aecon’s nuclear offering. Aecon is well positioned to harness the collective strengths of all of its operating sectors to advance the opportunities associated with the deployment of new nuclear technology.

Maintenance and Outage Support

Aecon provides a full spectrum of engineering, procurement and construction services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry. Our project success ranges from small but essential maintenance contracts, to major construction endeavors. We also provide qualified technicians for electrical and I&C services during outage and on-line maintenance. Our technicians meet ISA standards to support any outage.

Operating Nuclear Plant
Operating Plants

Aecon has demonstrated success in delivering complex nuclear projects safely, on-time, on-schedule, and with excellent quality through continuously incorporating unit over unit lessons learned. Our nuclear experience spans more than five decades, including executing life extension programs for the two largest ongoing refurbishment projects in North America.

Nuclear Fabrication

Aecon has the capability to perform design engineering, custom modular fabrication and field installation. We leverage customized equipment that ranges in size from large, fabricated modules to Class-1 components for all nuclear projects. Operating this equipment is our highly-skilled, extensively-trained staff, who work with both fully automatic and semi-automatic machines to ensure consistent, precise work. Aecon’s in-house customized computer software applications enable real-time tracking of each manufacturing project stage, direct from the manufacturing floor.

Aecon has fabricated steel components for everything from ASME III pipe/mechanical modules, steam generator piping systems, specialized tooling, and structural components, to shielding canopies and nuclear island containment bulkheads. As an N-Stamp specialty fabricator, Aecon also complies with stringent ASME Section III and NRC regulations.

Decommissioning

Aecon offers services based on decades of experience, in-depth knowledge, and a broad range of qualifications to support clients in decommissioning plants. We are well positioned to continue expanding into the U.S. commercial nuclear, industrial and federal services markets.
