Aecon is dedicated to a comprehensive, collaborative, approach to Indigenous engagement.

Aecon’s Indigenous strategy supports the inclusion, engagement and participation of Indigenous communities. We work side by side with community leaders and members to create and nurture mutually beneficial relationships, while acting as a responsible and respectful business partner.

Aecon's Reconciliation Action Plan

Aecon’s vision is to be an industry leader in advancing Reconciliation and co-creating opportunities that provide sustainable and beneficial relationships aligned with the priorities and objectives of Indigenous peoples.

As an acknowledgement of Call to Action #92 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, Aecon adopted a Reconciliation Action Plan in 2022.

Since then, we have deepened relationships with Indigenous communities, expanded cultural awareness across our organization, and taken tangible steps to embed truth and reconciliation into our business practices. More details of our key achievements so far, can be found in our 2025 Reconciliation Plan update.
