Aecon is actively engaged on all fronts of the energy transition. Our experts can see a project from conceptualization through to commissioning and start up. Aecon has a long history constructing power generation projects. Oil and Gas

We have extensive experience executing projects of all sizes in upstream SAGD oilsands extraction, upgrading and processing, midstream transport and storage, and downstream refining.

Refining and Chemicals

Aecon supports the refining and chemical industry with turnkey construction, turnaround, and maintenance services. Leveraging our ability to self-perform all disciplines of work we have successfully delivered projects in various markets including ethylene, hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, and propane.

Mining and Mineral Processing

We provide construction, fabrication and procurement services for various mines including copper, diamond, gold, silver, nickel, potash, uranium, molybdenum, salt, oilsands and cement. From expanding the output of an existing facility, to replacing or upgrading major components, or starting from scratch, Aecon provides industry specialists to provide constructability input, detailed planning, and project execution through all phases of delivery.

Industrial Manufacturing

Aecon provides vertically integrated construction solutions for a wide variety of industrial manufacturing applications such as industrial gases, steel and metals, automotive, battery plants, food, and beverage facilities. In addition to greenfield new facilities, we support our clients with expansions, shutdowns, and sustaining projects in operating facilities.

Backed by a successful history in the automotive industry, Aecon proudly supports the production of electric vehicles and electric battery components for the automotive industry. From construction to machine installation and electrical services, our team’s expertise and resources position us as a reliable solutions provider for major clients.

Industrial Fabrication

Aecon’s substantial fabrication and modularization capacity, combined with our ability to efficiently utilize multiple facilities across the continent, is a significant advantage when undertaking large scale projects. Aecon operates over 300,000 sq ft of shop space across North America – producing up to 1,000,000 inches of weld per year on pipe spools of all configurations and all materials.

Aecon was awarded the first of a series of contracts for the Legacy Project that included early cavern development work, well pad construction, structural steel fabrication and erection, foundation construction and mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation work for the tank farm and the plant.
