The scope of work included the design and construction of improvements to the existing Highway 91 at Nordel interchange, the Highway 91 Connector at Nordel Way, and the Highway 91/17 Connector (Sunbury).
Pacific Gateway Constructors, a consortium comprised of Ledcor (40%), Aecon (35%) and BEL Contracting (25%), is carrying out the contract awarded by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Key Project Activities included:
- 15 KM of new lane roadway and upgrades to 20 KM of existing lane roadway.
- Construction of 4 bridge structures and 8 MSE Wall bridge abutment supports.
- Construction of 32 drilled shafts for bridge foundations.
- Extensive ground improvements, including wick-drains, light weight cellular concrete and one of the deepest stone column installations in North America.
