The current Comox Valley Water System provides drinking water to approximately 45,000 residents in Courtenay, Comox and surrounding areas but does not meet provincial guidelines – making this a critical project for surrounding communities.
In September of 2018, Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) also established a partnership with K’ómoks First Nation (KFN) through the signing of a Mutual Benefit Agreement confirming cooperation and collaboration in the management of water resources in the region and support of the project and CVRD’s water license application.
